2) Radha presented her report on our finances

3) Riaz will go to Guyana between 3/15-4/7 and he will be at the school and working on its behalf on a daily basis.  His agenda will be:

a) Determine what infrastructure repairs are needed

b) Interface with the new head master Mr. Frasier

c) See the status of the playground which is under construction with our funds

d) Study the security status of the existing computer room and if/when high speed internet lines will be available in the area.  Also see if the government’s “One laptop per Student” program is visable yet

e) Meet with the Ministry of Education and see if it will be possible for the executive committee as a group to meet with the President of Guyana

f) Make a video of the school showing what it needs, what we have accomplished and what our goals are for the future.  We will use this video for presentation to charities and at the next fund raiser event

4) Suggestions for distribution of existing funds:

a) We discussed the merits of holding them for building a new school later on or disbursing yearly and we decided to disburse yearly.  Our long term goal will be to build a new school which we estimate will cost at least US$120,000 for which we would like to have matching funds from the Guyana Government

b) We are interested to buy 30 computers in stages from a local retailer/service company and Riaz will do the preliminary study in Guyana

5) 2011 Fund Raiser:  We decided on a September 2011 date and one particular venue is preferred.  As soon as everything is fixed we will make an annoucement on the website, email and Facebook etc.  The pricing was agreed upon for an all inclusive ticket this time

6) New members for the executive committee:  Some specific alumni were mentioned and agreed upon and we are now reaching out to them for further discussions.
