Minutes of 2/1/13 NY Executive Committee meeting
Venue: Carib Cabana, Jamaica

Items discussed:
1) Arrangements via Phool Denobrega:
a) We will tell Phool to fund the monthly internet service for the balance of the year
b) We will buy a Microwave for the school, which was requested by the HM and use some of the funds Phool is holding for us
2) Current matters for LCSS:
a) LCSS wants 80 athletic uniforms which have agreed to fund and we will ask the HM for details of what is needed
b) We will ask the HM what it will take to finish the electrical job with fans and if overall favorable, we will fund it
3) Riaz visited the school in January and spoke about 3 hours with the HM and senior teaching staff. Riaz asked the HM to get the community involved by preparing and signing a petition requesting the Ministry to provide a new school. We will follow up to see the status of this
4) New fund raising event: We will skip 2013 and see what we can do that is perhaps somewhat different in the next year.
5) As the idea to build a new school or relocate becomes more elusive, we are now deciding how best to disburse our existing funds. It will most likely be on items that are needed yet still can be moved such as uniforms and supplies etc, The HM did tell us the local ministry is talking about making a 2 story addition to the existing building but the timing is unknown. We are still hesitant to invest in the school infrastructure other than the electrical/fans project until we know the final outcome of a potential relocation.
