Minutes of 12/1/12 NY Executive Committee meeting

Items discussed:
1. Sept. 29 Fund Raiser: The net proceeds of the event were $4200.00 This is about 50% less than last year but there were fewer people this year and raffle ticket sales lagged. Future fund raising events will be in a different format, perhaps as an evening boat ride. The committee feels we have ‘maxed out’ on the dinner dance type venue.
2. Gord Ramkissoon of Canada wanted to donate 5 bicycles to the school and have them available yearly to the most needy students. He just got a reply from the Headmaster that the school would prefer the donation of a very good copier machine and Gord will be undertaking this.
3.The headmaster send us an email stating that various repairs have been started on the school by the local Works Dept. Also a new 2 storey left wing is schedule to be built. We are in the process of asking the Headmaster how this came about and if it was the result of our petitioning the government for a new school.
4. We are continuing to fund the monthly internet service for the school
5. It was discussed that in the spring Riaz and Howard should visit Guyana and have meetings with the Presidents office, Ministry and Headmaster. This will be the best way to get replies to our visions for the school.
